We’re doing a little happy dance over here with our recent Telly Award win for a motivational veteran tribute video we produced for Maaco, a national automotive body shop, last year. This is our 14th Telly Award and it still makes us proud to receive the “You are a winner!” notice. This video in particular was incredibly touching and rewarding for our video production crew.
The idea for the video came after Maaco received a letter from the father of a war veteran who had just finished restoring a 1967 Chevy Impala – similar to the Impala featured in the television show Supernatural – after being wounded by an IED in Afghanistan. The restoration project helped the father and son reconnect and helped his son to heal physically and emotionally from his war injuries. Maaco did the finishing paint job and the father and son shared their story and appreciation via a letter to the company. Maaco hired L.A. Management Company to produce this inspiring story as a tribute to all military veterans.
“We produce many corporate videos, but none have been as touching as this project,” said Lou Amico, president of L.A. Management Company. “The focus of the video was on this father and son, their relationship and the symbol this car became in their lives. Maaco was very touched by the letter they received and saw this video as an opportunity to pay tribute to this family and all military veterans. We were very proud to be part of this video project and incredibly honored to see it recognized with this special Telly Award.”
